Temptations of a gateway sin. A forbidden love. And, two halves of the same soul.
I wielded within me the bliss of Heaven. And, he commanded the temptations of Hell. If I had known the danger he brought with him, I still wouldn’t have turned away.
In a world where black and white mesh to create gray, nothing is clear and nothing is sacred.
Amity Heir strives with relentless determination to rid the world of the evils lurking within the shadows. Ever since she could remember, darkness hovered over the lives of those around her. It was cruel and manipulative in its requests. Unyielding. She couldn’t pretend to know what it was…or what it wanted. But of one thing, she was certain. The darkness was alive. It pulsed, emitting energy so horrific, it could only stem from the demonic.
After seventeen years of hiding from the darkness. It found her. And in its place, he came. A malicious soldier, Lucifer’s first son, and a Greater Demon. Kylar is the epitome of temptation. Everything about him calls to Amity, challenges her, threatens her. She cannot resist him despite the fact she knows she should. When he reveals his true intent with her, it is simply too late to turn away. Secrets are unveiled and hearts are bound.
In a single action that binds two souls, Heaven and Hell are challenged…determined to fight for their best pawns in a war of all wars. The apocalypse.

The Gateway to confusion. And d*rty thoughts.
By Charne Cross
When I read the prescription I was immediately drawn to Amity and Kylar's story, because of the fact that it was supernatural and that makes everything just better.
Amity is the ultimate goody-two shoes. She also has the purest aura and soul known to mankind. So pure that the devil himself wants her down in the pits of hell. He sends Kylar, one of his demons who guards the one gateway, to bring her to him, because he is the badass of demons. That just makes him more sexy and beyond yummy. So while Kylar tries to distance himself until he has to seduce Amity to go to hell with him, he falls in love with her. In his own crazy way. They develop feelings for each other that is forbidden between a demon and the child of an angel of God.
Amity was a pure soul throughout this book and she actually made me feel bad about myself. She drove me to go and volunteer at the pet shelter and that says something. Kylar was described so enticingly that I felt ashamed of the thoughts in my head while reading of God's angels. He is the picture of sin. Sin wrapped in chocolate and cherries on top.
The author did a good job with this book but I just felt a bit confused. I finished the book and read a sample of the second book, The Second Circle, and didn't understand where the sudden rush of love came. In the first book Kylar keeps Amity at a safe distance ( as safe as a girl in a demon's presence can be ) but in the second book he isn't ashamed of his feelings for her when even at the end of book 1 he didn't indicate any feelings like in book 2.
Except for that tiny confusion I love this book and is currently obsessing - I mean reading the second book.
But all in all I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who just needs a bit of a demon in their mundane, boring lives.
So live in this little bit of sin and pray for forgiveness.

Wow, great

So diffused as to why there are so few reviews. I was entranced, couldn't seem to put the book down. I did find the book to be young adult, aha could have had a little more depth... intensity. But very good, liking forward to the rest of the series.
